Creative Outdoor Play
To enable child care staff to develop an outdoor play environment so that effective teaching and learning can take place.
Programme Objectives
By the end of the session candidates will be able to:
- Critically asses the settings outdoor play environment
- Understand the importance of teaching and learning in the outdoor area and ways in which it links to the Foundation Stage Curriculum.
- Produce an action plan for developing the outdoor play environment with reference to the six areas of learning.
- Design a range of activities and games that enhance learning outdoors
- Explain the role of the adult in the outdoor area
- Develop the curriculum to include the outdoor environment
- Demonstrate the ability to carryout activities within the outdoor environment.

Childcare specialist in pre school and nursery environments and others with responsibilities for child care i.e. child minders, after school clubs etc..
